CAF Sends Official Match Designations to St Eloi Lupopo Ahead of Group Stage Campaign
In a development marking the club’s final phase of preparation for their continental campaign, Congolese giants St Eloi Lupopo have officially received two letters from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday, each containing the designated lists of match officials for their opening two CAF group stage fixtures (Matchday 1 and Matchday 2).
According to the club, the correspondence from CAF includes the names, nationalities, and assigned roles of referees, assistant referees, and match commissioners for both encounters formalizing the logistical and administrative framework required before kickoff.
While the letters did not include any additional communication or updates beyond the designations, the development signals CAF’s confirmation of Lupopo’s readiness for the continental stage. The Lubumbashi based outfit are now intensifying final preparations, with training sessions focused on tactical shape, match conditioning, and acclimatisation ahead of their highly anticipated debut fixture.
Club officials have expressed satisfaction with CAF’s timely communication, saying it provides clarity for the team’s travel and coordination plans.
St Eloi Lupopo, who are determined to make a strong impression in the group stage, are expected to unveil their full matchday travel itinerary and player availability update later this week.
The CAF interclub group stage kicks off in the coming days, with excitement building across the continent as African football’s elite prepare for another season of continental competition.
