VIDEO: Costly Ashley Du Preez miss leaves Kaizer Chiefs fans fuming, while unlucky Khanyisa Mayo hits woodwork in CAF Confederation Cup action

Ashley Du Preez, Kaizer Chiefs

After Amakhosi’s 0-0 draw at Stade TP Mazembe against AS Simba, the Glamour Boys faithful were left buzzing over key moments; most notably the shocking missed chances that could’ve changed everything. From Mayo’s strike off the post to Du Preez’s open-net miss, Chiefs were left wondering what might have been.

Missed opportunities

Khanyisa Mayo, Kaizer Chiefs

After a tense 0-0 draw in Lubumbashi, Kaizer Chiefs were left ruing three golden chances. The most shocking came when Ashley du Preez failed to convert into an open net after Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala sliced through Simba’s defence, leaving fans speechless.

Khanyisa Mayo came close with an effort that rattled the post, while Vilakazi’s long-range free-kick tipped over the crossbar by Simba’s keeper Dida Fatao. Chiefs had their moments, but the scoreboard stayed silent.

Next on the cards for Amakhosi

Dillan Solomons, Kaizer Chiefs

After the CAF stalemate, Amakhosi return home for a Premier Soccer League clash with Siwelele FC on Wednesday, 22 October.

Then it’s all eyes on Sunday, 26 October, when Simba arrive in Soweto for a second leg that could define Chiefs’ continental campaign.
